You have a goal. You have the motivation. You believe in your ability.

You know that to be your best, you want the guidance of someone who has done it before. And helped others do it well.

It's more than numbers. More than looking at time splits, wattage, or heart rate zones. It's more than getting workouts over the internet.

It's a relationship built around knowledge and service -- knowledge about you, about the sport, about achievement, service to help you overcome obstacles, and helping with real world constraints.

That's where TARGETRAINING coaching comes in.

Growing up in Colombia, Carlos tried his first bicycle race at age 14 under the encouragement of his older brother, who was also a racer. Carlos was hooked. He worked his way through the sport, and raced as a professional for 6 years in Colombia. Always determined to know everything possible about his sport, Carlos devoted most of his time studying all aspects: coaching, training, racing, history, biomechanics, bicycle building, etc. He received a degree in Physical Education from the University of Politecnico in Colombia, and brings over 20 years of experience in the bicycle industry to TARGETRAINING. He is a USCF Expert Level certified coach, and gives his clients a well-rounded structure for their training, whether they are aiming for their first mass-start event, or trying to break into the top-10 at national-caliber races.

Matt Baldwin, Tri & Cycle Shop manager and Cycling Coach (full time staff)
Matt comes to TARGETRAINING with 10 years of retail management experience and a compelling story testifying to the importance of effective training. Growing up a hockey player and sailboat racer, Matt occasionally let his weight get up over 200 lbs. At 5’9”, 200 lbs didn’t sit well on this native of Lebanon, CT. He vowed to get fit, and rode his way through he ranks of local bike races. He figured that if he was fast at 200 lbs and a Cat 3, what would actually happen if he trained and kept the weight off? Matt firmly believes in combating laziness with determination, motivation, and proper structure; and he applied this conviction to his training. He upgraded to a Cat 1 and consistently earns top placings in New England Pro 1,2 bike races. He is finishing his degree in Marketing at WestConn and lives in Danbury, CT with his fiancé Alescia.

Max Veiga, Tri & Cycle Shop all-around expert & Cycling Coach (full time staff)
Max has been racing for TARGETRAINING for 4 years. He started out as an expert mountain biker, switched to the road and has not looked back.  Max is also a strong runner, both on the trails and the road. Max worked for many years in the wholesaling/importing side of the bicycle industry.  So there are few products and companies that Max does not know.  And he makes a point of testing and owning as much product as possible.  He is also an incredibly good guy who makes everyone, regardless of their experience level, feel at ease.  Stop by Tri&Cycle to say hello to Max.
